Project Support Coordinator

This is a pivotal moment to join our team as we embark on a major new government initiative within the NHS. As our Project Support Coordinator, you will play a key role supporting the PCN Manager in scoping, implementing, and delivering the Neighbourhood Health Service in South Bristol.

Working directly with the PCN Manager and collaborating with local healthcare providers and community partners, you will provide the operational backbone for projects designed to reduce health inequalities and improve outcomes for our local community.

JOB TITLE: Project Support Coordinator (Community Health)  

REPORTS TO: PCN Manager

HOURS: Full time (37.5 hours per week) /Part time may be considered for the right candidate

SALARY: £28,000 - £31,000 depending on experience

Contract Type: Funded / New Position / Fixed Term – initially 12 months (probability will be extended to permanent subject to funding)

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Administration: Manage correspondence across multiple workstreams, arrange and attend meetings, draft agendas, and record detailed, actionable minutes for meetings and workshops.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate and attend community engagement events, helping to build strong relationships with project sponsors, suppliers, and community partners.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Track project outputs and outcomes to ensure compliance with defined deliverables; assist in the preparation of reports and data-driven presentations.
  • Operational Support: Support the PCN Manager in the day-to-day delivery of the Neighbourhood Health Service, ensuring all project methodologies are applied accurately.
  • Event Facilitation: Help organise and facilitate workshops and engagement events (including occasional evening sessions).
  • Governance, Safeguarding & Information Compliance: Operate within NHS information governance, confidentiality and data protection policies at all times; escalate safeguarding concerns promptly and follow local safeguarding procedures; champion equality, diversity and inclusion; ensure accessibility is built into communications and events.

You are a proactive, organised individual with a genuine passion for community health. You understand that behind every successful project is a solid foundation of data, communication, and coordination.

Qualifications

  • Educated to Level 3/4 (A‑level / NVQ4 / HNC) or equivalent experience.
  • Desirable – educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Desirable: Project Management (e.g., PRINCE2 Foundation / APM), Quality Improvement, Health Coaching or Facilitation training.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience working with local community groups or health services (e.g., NHS Talking Therapies, Bristol City Council, or community foundations).
  • A firm understanding of project management principles and how to apply them effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, with the confidence to deliver presentations and facilitate discussions among diverse stakeholders.
  • Advanced IT skills, including MS Office (ideally with experience in project scheduling software) and the ability to interpret data.
  • The ability to prioritise a complex workload and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
