Why We Don’t Prescribe Medication for Period Delay
We understand that some patients may want to delay their period for holidays, travel, or special occasions. However, our practice does not prescribe medication for period delay. Here’s why:
Our Reasons
· Not part of NHS care: Period delay for non-medical reasons is considered a lifestyle choice, not a clinical need, so it isn’t covered by NHS services.
· Safety matters: These medications can have side effects and require careful monitoring, which is not appropriate for short-term, non-essential use.
· Alternative options: If you need medication for period delay, this can be arranged through a private provider or pharmacy service.
